Adele, Mumford & Sons and Gotye were among the big winners at The Grammy Awards in Los Angeles last night (10th February).

For the second consecutive year the biggest prize of the evening – Album of the Year – went to a British artist with Mumford & Sons’ ‘Babel’ following in the hallowed footsteps of Adele’s ‘21’.

Gotye’s ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’ took the prestigious Record of the Year gong, fun.’s ‘We Are Young’ was named Song of the Year while Adele took home the Best Pop Solo Performance honour for ‘Set Fire to the Rain’.

Other big winners of the night included Skrillex, The Black Keys, Usher, Kanye West, Drake, Taylor Swift, Rihanna and Calvin Harris.

There was also some controversy when Chris Brown refused to stand up to congratulate Frank Ocean on his Best Urban Contemporary Album following their altercation in an LA record studio car park two weeks ago.

Taylor Swift opened the ceremony with other performers at The Staples Center including Rihanna, Sting and Bruno Mars, Elton John and Ed Sheeran, Justin Timberlake, The Black Keys, Fun., Kelly Clarkson, Mumford & Sons, Frank Ocean, Carrie Underwood, Jack White and The Lumineers.
